How to Manage Your Open Positions with the Pocket Pro Bot (powered by dYdX)

One of the most powerful parts of Pocket Pro Bot is that you can trade and manage your perpetual positions without ever leaving Telegram. No separate dashboards, no tab switching - everything happens in chat. This guide walks through how to check your trades, set risk controls, close out positions, and even share results with your friends.

Manage Your Trades

View your Positions

Once you’ve opened a trade with the Pocket Pro Bot, you can view your positions anytime with the /positions command. This will display a summary of your active perpetual trades.

  • Available to trade: Available balance you have left that can be used to open new positions
  • Margin used: The percentage of your account balance currently tied up in active positions.
  • Position: The market you’re trading and whether you’re long or short, including your leverage size.
  • Indication of Cross or Isolated: Indicates the margin mode you used for the position.
  • Entry: The price at which your position was opened.
  • Mark: The current market price (used for calculating unrealized PnL).
  • Size: The notional value of your position.
  • P&L: real-time profit and loss.

Setting Stop Loss and Take Profit

Risk management is built directly into the bot. From /positions, click SL/TP on the trade you want to manage.

  • Stop Loss: Automatically closes your position if the market moves against you, helping limit potential losses.
  • Take Profit: Automatically locks in profits once the market reaches your target level.

  • Once you select either Stop Loss or Take Profit:
    • Choose the percentage of your position you’d like to execute. You can choose from the preset % values or set your own custom value.
    • Next, define your trigger condition.
      • A percentage change in profit/loss (e.g., -10% or +20%), or
      • A specific price level (e.g., $5).
  • Click “🟢 Execute” to finalize and activate your Stop Loss or Take Profit order.

Close Positions

  • Click on the "Close Pos." button after you run the /positions command.
  • Select which open position you would like to close.
  • Choose the percentage of the position you'd like to close. You can choose from the preset % values or set your own custom value.
  • Click “🟢 Execute” to confirm and close your position.
  • When you close a position, Pocket Pro Bot automatically generates a summary card that highlights your trade performance. The card displays key details including:
    • Entry Price
    • Exit Price
    • Position Size
    • Profit and Loss (PnL)
  • Share your card with friends or in group chats to showcase your results.

Advanced Settings

For additional settings, click the 'Advanced' button after running the /positions command.

  • Image View: Display your positions in a visual card format.
  • Text View: Display your positions in a simple text format.
  • Notifications: Customize which group chats should (or shouldn't) get alerts.
  • Stealth Mode: Toggle on to stop broadcasting all trades to followers and group chats.
